Health in Balance has an exceptional team of physical therapists led by founder Catherine (Kaite) Van Laanen.
Catherine Van Laanen, PT, DPT
Catherine (Kaite) Van Laanen, PT, DPT, graduated from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois, in 2000 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree and completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Florida. Kaite has 11 years of experience treating orthopedic patients including tempormandibular (TMJ) pain, sacroiliac dysfunction and low back pain, shoulder problems, sports injuries, vocal chord dysfunction, work-related injuries, and foot and ankle pain. She uses a manual approach as well as exercise and believes that treating the whole body, not just the injury . She believes this approach is what allows pateints to acheive a full recovery and return to the active lifestyle they deserve.
Colleen Wilkens, MPT
Colleen graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1999 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. She has been working in outpatient orthopedics since graduation. Colleen combines manual techniques, exercise, and education to help her patients reach their goals. She enjoys working with cervical and sacroiliac dysfunction, shoulder injuries, lower extremity dysfunction, post-surgical patients, sports rehabilitation, running injuries, vocal cord dysfunction, incontinence and TMJ problems. She enjoys challenging her patients to acheive or return to an active lifestyle.
Andrea Bennett, MPT
Andrea graduated from Carroll College, Waukesha, Wisconsin in 2002 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. Her career focus has been in orthopedics although she has experience working in a variety of settings. Andrea enjoys working with lower extremity injuries, sports injuries, shoulder problems, post-operative therapy, work injuries, vocal cord dysfunction, as well as treating spinal disorders including neck and back pain. She uses a holistic approach to caring for her clients and encourages wellness through patient education, exercise, and manual therapy techniques.
Maria Kelly, MPT
Maria graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2000 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. She has been working primarily in outpatient orthopedics since graduation. Maria enjoys working with sacroiliac issues, lumbar and cervical dysfunction, running and sports injuries, shoulder dysfunction, upper and lower extremity injuries, pre and post-partum orthopedic care, and post surgical patients. Maria uses a manual based treatment approach, exercise, and patient education, to provide the personalized care patients deserve.
