Question and Answer with Katie:

What have been the highlights along your professional journey thus far?

One of my greatest professional joys is helping children take their first steps. Moments like these are what inspired me to become a pediatric physical therapist, and they remain some of the most rewarding days in the clinic. Watching a child reach a milestone that brings them greater independence is truly special.

Throughout my career, I have also had the opportunity to develop equipment clinics within previous organizations, helping families access adaptive equipment that supports mobility, function, and independence in everyday life.

A milestone I am especially proud of is earning my Board Certification in Pediatric Physical Therapy in 2014 and successfully renewing that certification in 2024, which reflects my continued commitment to providing the highest level of care for my patients and their families.

What can a patient expect from a physical therapy session with you?

Patients can expect a team approach toward meeting goals. I am passionate about working with patients and families to meet their goals while pushing patients to meet their potential. Patients will find a fun way to meet goals as I make play a priority in sessions.

What do you do to stay healthy and well?

I love home workouts with a focus on cardio and weightlifting. I recently have found a desire for Pilates also. When the weather is nice, my mom and I will cycle on the local trails or walk in the neighborhood.

What are your favorite hobbies/things to do?

When I am not working, I am a baseball mom to my son. Summers are our busy months! I also enjoy reading and spending time with family watching any sport. I find stress relief from singing and have been singing in the church choir for over 15 years. I am looking forward to getting back into scrapbooking this year.
