Get to Know Krystal
1. What is something you’re passionate about outside of work?
I’m very passionate about music/art. I love listening to music as well as singing. I also play the piano and love to remix various songs.
2. What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re super proud of?
I am very proud of the fact that I have maintained a steady relationship with God for so many years. That’s one of my biggest accomplishments: my spiritual journey. More than any title or accolade I may have won.
3. What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?
My favorite way to spend the weekend is partially watching some of my favorite shows on the couch with my dog and also spending time with family and friends. That could include: checking out a fun brunch spot, checking out some live music or going to see some live theater.
4. What’s your favorite sports team or athlete?
Green Bay Packers! I am a die hard Cheesehead. Cannot wait for the football season!
5. What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever been?
I’d say Jamaica. It was pretty interesting observing the culture, and trying out the various foods etc. I was also able to swim in the ocean and do some snorkeling which was super cool.
6. Who would you choose if you could pick one person, living or dead, to have dinner with?
I’d choose my Dad. He passed away a good while ago and I’d love to have a sit down with him to check in and fill him in on all of the many things I’ve accomplished and gone through thus far in my life. I think that would be pretty cool to do.
7. What hobby would you like to try if you had the time?
One of these days I’d like to plant my own garden of fruits and vegetables and eat from my own backyard. Gardening would be a pretty cool hobby to get into one day, for sure.
8. If you could learn any language, which one would it be and why?
Definitely Spanish. I’ve actually been learning Spanish for many years. Still not entirely fluent, but I am getting there. I recently got the nudge to get back into it because I admire the culture and people so much. It’s also a means to connect with others and I’d love to be able to speak the language and connect with individuals from that particular background.
9. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be many things. But at the very beginning I wanted to be a professional WNBA player, for sure. I loved playing basketball and enjoyed the competition of it all and beating all of my neighbors lol. I’m very competitive lol.
10. What’s your favorite movie soundtrack?
Probably The Lion King. One of the most iconic soundtracks ever made! I definitely remember singing along to just about every song on that playlist.
Krystal’s Top 5 Strength Exercises
Bicep Curl
A classic, and highly necessary. I like this one because it’s simple and there are many variations, allowing you to target the many facets of the bicep.
Bulgarian Split Squats
These are indeed very challenging yet they are so good for isolation, and maximizing lower body strength.
What do you do to keep active?
I try to remain active just about everyday of the week. Even if it just involves a light walk outdoors, that counts. I love to go hiking around my neighborhood or find cool trails around the city. Currently, I workout about 4x/wk which consists of: yoga, strength training, cardio, and flexibility/mobility work. I try to stay in tune with my body and give it what it needs. Everything serves a purpose.

Plank
A good old fashioned plank. A great way to challenge yourself and hold it for longer than before. Also, great for improving posture and overall stability.
How does a 1st training session go with you?
A first training session with me, typically would be partially getting to know each other by discussing goals, fitness history, nutrition etc. & Partially exploring the gym floor to observe foundational movements and addressing proper form/posture.
I like to take the time to get to know a new client so that I can create a program tailored only to them. All in all, we will have a good time.

A great knee strengthener (with caution) and a good pump for the quadriceps.
Sled Push
I love this one because it makes you feel super strong. Also a great way to target your full body while emphasizing explosive strength.
